Teaming up to support digital transformation

Supporting the digital ecosystem that helps innovation thrive at Arizona State University is core to how the teams at ASU Enterprise Technology work and serve.

Behind the learning innovations and groundbreaking research that ASU is recognized for is a set of foundational technology services that helps drive forward operations that require scale, security and agility.

And a diverse set of teams at ASU Enterprise Technology – including engineering, people operations and data and analysis – help bring these technologies to scale.

In collaboration with ASU's Business and Finance, teams from ASU Enterprise Technology supported the university's transition to Workday — the all-in-one finance, human resources and payroll system.

The upgrade to Workday took place in December 2024, following a nearly two-year effort to prepare the operations and employees for a successful transition.

“The promise of digital transformation is realized when it connects diverse talent to solve an enterprise's most ambitious and complex challenges,” shares Kimberly Clark, ASU's deputy CIO.

And behind every new technology integration is a team of talented individuals who create human-driven impact.

From engineering’s focus on data conversion, integrations and remediation to people operations training hundreds of university employees across both academic and staff, the real impact is told through the stories of those driving change.

Let’s meet a few of the team members from ASU Enterprise Technology:

About the teams

Engineering comprises various roles – including software engineers, systems integration specialists and infrastructure management – who work together to deliver scalable and reliable technology experiences to the ASU community. These include the university’s web platform Acquia and custom-relation management platform Salesforce, the MyASU student portal and Sun Devil Mobile App.

People Operations works in partnership with the Enterprise Technology community to attract, engage, develop and retain talented employees. The team strives to create an inclusive environment for those we serve and our success is measured by both the quality and speed of the services we provide.

Support from the Data and Analysis core was integral to the success of the Workday transition.
