ASU brand guide

ASU Color Palette
Stay on-brand by using our approved color palette. Remember to ensure all ASU designs meet accessibility standards for color and contrast.

ASU Canto 
Canto houses university brand assets such as unit logos, brand photography, university rankings lockups, icons, patterns and more.

Collaborative tools make giving clear, compelling and brand-aligned presentations quicker and easier than ever before.

ASU Icons

  • Font Awesome Free 
    ASU uses Font Awesome Free as its primary icon set – any style (solid, regular, light) can be used.
  • ASU Awesome 
    Building on Font Awesome solid, ASU Awesome adds new creative elements for brand expression. It's available to everyone at ASU and is regularly updated. You can access ASU Awesome at the bottom of the "Fonts and Typography" page in the ASU Brand Guide.
  • ASU Artificial Intelligence Icons 
    Custom-made for ASU, these AI-themed icons are available in ASU Canto. To access them, sign into ASU Canto and search "AI Icons" to enhance your projects with a unique, branded touch.

ASU AI guidelines
ASU embraces AI tools to enhance creativity and efficiency, but users must be mindful of potential risks like data privacy, copyright issues, and bias. AI outputs should align with ASU’s branding and require human oversight. Follow guidelines to ensure ethical, compliant use in marketing and communications.

Accessibility & Compliance

ASU Accessibility Guides
At ASU, new and redesigned websites, applications, online courses, and other digital content should comply with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Accessible Color and Contrast
Learn about the importance of accessible color and contrast. Remember to never use color or any other sensory cues (position, shape, sound, etc.) alone to visually convey important information.

  • WebAIM: Contrast Checker I Use the WebAIM Contrast Checker to ensure your designs meet the W3C’s WCAG 2.1, level AA standards for accessibility. At ASU, all new and redesigned websites, applications and digital content should comply with these guidelines for optimal color contrast and accessibility.

Training & Learning Resources

ASU brand training and learning opportunities 
ASU offers brand-related workshops and training year-round, including the annual Summer Camps. Employees can also access Career Edge for job training and LinkedIn Learning courses.

The Academy workshops 
The Academy studio sessions are hosted by Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management and experts from around the university to provide a variety of in-person and online learning opportunities created to master and advance the ASU brand. Through workshops, studios and forums, professional communicators can come together to share best practices, learn from industry leaders and connect as a community.

The ASU Learning Experience Design Team provides academic technology support to ASU faculty and staff.
